It is not an exaggeration to describe my Cavaliers from Paul Imada of Crumley Cavaliers of Hawaii as the best investments I’ve made since moving to Hawaii thirteen years ago. I was so impressed with the first puppy he sold me that I returned to him for a second puppy eighteen months later. Both have been absolute joys.

I have owned Cavaliers for thirteen years, and have volunteered for Cavalier Rescue USA for two years. I have heard all manner of stories (ranging from good to absolutely terrible) about Cavalier breeders all over the country. It’s not only my personal experience with Paul, but my professional acumen that allows me to have such a favorable opinion of him.

Paul distinguishes his businesses from the competition in a number of ways, but I have found the following to be exceptional.

Expertise

Simply put, Paul is a Cavalier expert. He truly understands this breed. He doesn’t just have “textbook” knowledge, but possesses the kind of experience one can only get through years of hands-on raising, living with and formally showing Cavaliers.

Paul places emphasis on the importance of proper breeding and how that impacts a puppy’s health. So many of the health issues associated with Cavaliers stem from improper (or virtually non-existent) breeding practices. Paul is a true advocate for proper breeding in an industry sadly prone to “cutting corners.”

His customers can be assured that they are buying a puppy who has been bred with the utmost care and attention, descended from a legacy of excellence.

Support

Paul is not a “one and done” breeder. He is excellent at educating his potential customers about Cavaliers long before that customer puts down a deposit to be on his waiting list.

Paul makes sure that customers know what to expect as a Cavalier owner. Cavaliers are not like other dogs in many ways. They have unique sensitivities, and are not ideal for people who work long hours, travel often or simply don’t have the time and energy to devote to these special dogs.

Paul engages closely not just to prepare his customers, but to ensure that his puppies will go to only the most qualified, attentive  and loving homes.

Paul includes a twenty five page manual for each puppy he sells filled with recommendations for everything from food, toys, grooming tools, AKC registration information and vet recommendations.

Once you’ve taken your puppy home, Paul remains available for questions and concerns. He does everything he can to set his customers and their new puppies up for success.

Transparency

Paul is an excellent communicator.

He will keep you updated about where you stand on his waiting list, and when you can expect to take your puppy home. He sends copious photos, videos and personality profiles of your puppy before pick-up day so that you are always on top of your puppy’s early development and well being.

If you are a neighbor island customer, Paul will let you know what to expect from the airline when flying in and out back home with your puppy. I have done this twice from Kauai, and both experiences were flawless.

Too often consumers are influenced by issues of price, or having scored a good deal. Quality has seemed to take a back seat in so many of our transactions that it seems to have lost its importance.

Rest assured that this is not the case with Crumley Cavaliers of Hawaii. You are not just getting what you’ve paid for on paper. You’ve invested in years of quality, joy and blissful Cavalier parenthood, with a true partner in Paul.

I can’t thank you enough for Renji.  He is our first dog and he has brought so much joy and love to our ohana.  Not only is he our joy at home but he also has been my work companion at Tripler for the past three years and all the nurses and doctors love him.  His loving and easy temperament made training easy and Paul has been there for us anytime we had questions.  We still send Paul pics of him after three years.

My family got our first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel (female ruby) from Paul at Crumley Hawaii back in 2019.  Paul and his team were all so kind and informative.  He has an immense understanding of this breed.  We got a binder with a lot of helpful information when we picked up our first sweet Cavalier that I still refer to, to this day.  They were also always available to receive calls and texts should we have any questions once we took our sweet girl home.  We were so impressed that we got our second one (female tri-color) 2 months later.

We kept in contact with Paul and his team and got our 3rd and 4th one 3 years later (2 black and tans one female and one male).  Easy to say that these dogs are the best investments that my family and I have made.  We enjoy every day with these sweet babies!

We believe in Paul and his team so much that we recommend him to everyone!  Between my family and people we know there are a total of 8 cavaliers that we have gotten from him!

In 2020 we were living in Kona Hawaii on the Big Island.  We lost our Shitzu after 14 years. Our rescue mix Bella Rose was heartbroken along with us.  At first we thought about getting another shitzu, but after exhausting attempts there were none to be found.  I had remembered the breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and came across some in our dog classes.  I fell in love with the breed and thought let’s get one if we can find one in Hawaii.  After researching on line I found Crumley Cavaliers.  https://www.crumleyhi.org/

We fell in love with the website and contacted Paul the owner. Paul spent a lot of time with me and shared his amazing story how he got into breeding and affiliated with one of the if not the top Cavalier breeders in Georga “Cavailers by Crumley”.  I was so impressed with the story and care Crumley/Paul takes in breeding with AKC standards, impeccable lineage, and excellent health which is key for Cavailiers.  All of his dogs are “Bred with H.E.A.R.T.”  Health, Education, Accountability, Responsibility, and Tradition. This is an American Kennel Club Program which one must become a member.

We were blessed with a little blenheim boy born August 13, 2020.  While his registered AKC name is Crumley’s Bustin’ Out Hooper, we named him Sir Alexander Flynn and we call him Xander.  I flew over to Honolulu to pick him up.  Paul and his lovely wife met me and we exchanged all the paperwork and fee.  I was blown away when I held Xander in my arms.  He and I melted immediately into each other.  It’s no wonder, Paul and his wife socialize their puppies in their home daily. Not only with the other pups but with each other so they are use to human contact and love.  I recall how sad it was for Paul and his wife to say goodbye to Xander as they had fallen in love with him. They were so happy to see how much Xander took to me immediately.  Paul and his wife don’t look at this business as just a business, this is their love of life and passion raising, loving and showing these magnificent souls.

When we presented Xander to our rescue Bella Rose who’s was 48 pounds, she fell in love with him immediately and cared for him like she was his dog momma.  Xander loved her so much.  When Xander was 10 months old we moved after 17 years from Hawaii to Tampa Florida.  We started Xander and me in Dog classes.  He finished CGC (Canine Good Citizenship) with flying colors and entered ADVANCED Obedience since he was so smart.  I had started training on my own when we brought him home.  He became one of the star performers in class.  No wonder since his dad  PONO and mom HONI are both award winning show dogs.  After our Bella Rose passed away, Xander was heartbroken along with us and the circle of life continued.  We found an amazing breeder in Tampa very much like Paul who breeds and shows Shihtzus.  We were blessed with a little girl named Isabelle Grace. Xander adores her and she him.  Xander is 17 pounds. After 3 1/2 years we left Tampa FL and moved back to Las Vegas, NV where we reside now.  Xander is now 5 years old and as healthy and lean as can be. He is truly one of the most loving dogs I've ever had.  He, Isabelle and I take 1.5 to 2 mile walks about 5 days a week. He loves his walks. People stop me all the time and mention how gorgeous Xander is.

I have stayed in touch with Paul these 5 years to let him know how great Xander is doing and how much I appreciate to this day that I found him.

I talk about Crumley Cavaliers all the time to people.  I’m so blessed to have found Paul and can't stress enough the care he takes in breeding healthy, happy, socialized pups all in their home.  If you want the most loving breed, smart and easy to train, then a Cavailer from Crumleys is the place to go.

Working with Paul was - and continues to be - a fantastic experience!  He clearly cares about making sure his puppies go to loving, responsible homes.  We felt confident we were bringing high quality puppies into our home after learning that Crumley Cavaliers of Hawaii follows health-focused breeding practices, including genetic testing and evaluations by specialists.  Knowing their litters are AKC-registered gave us even more confidence in their program and a peace of mind.

Paul provided a thoughtful and easy-to-follow Care Manual, which helped us prepare and care for the two puppies upon bringing them home.  Since then and even now, he has remained incredibly responsive and supportive - always available to answer questions.

Not only are Harley and Bailey happy and healthy, but they are also absolutely beautiful dogs.  People constantly stop us to ask where we got them!  Their coats are glossy, their features are classic to the breed, and their personalities are just as charming as their appearance.

Thanks to Paul, we now have two happy, healthy Cavaliers who bring much joy to our lives!
